Guatemala Antigua Finca Santa Catalina

About 

Antigua, by far the most famous area of production of Guatemala. Starting this fall, you'll be receiving this beautiful lot of  Santa Catalina farm Antigua ‘s best expression amongst the high pedigree farms of Pedro Echeverria, third generation Antigua producer.

The coffee is milled and dried in Finca Capetillo owned by the same Echeverría family. The farm is part of the APCA association, guaranteeing its Antigua origin. It has won several times best coffee in APCA competition and has participated three times in the Cup of Excellence auction.

Santa Catalina is a steep farm nestled high on the slopes of Acatenango Volcano, overlooking the City of Antigua reaching 2100msl of elevation in its highest point. It was created 15 years ago, which is rather young compared with the other “certified Antigua“ farms,  and is mostly planted with Bourbon, Pache, and Caturra.

Santa Catalina is 70 hectares of coffee is surrounded by a thick lush virgin forest, a pure paradise for the colorful native birds and natural wildlife of the region, preserved and protected. The windy valley called for a specific variety of trees to protect the delicate coffee shrubs, the Gravilea, mixed with native trees.
